Project Brief

The Immersion is an individual student project, where students design an off-grid shelter. The design of the space is contextualized around the specific location of being underwater as well as partially floating on the water surface. The project focuses on how the design relates to and interacts with the natural geography of the ocean. The size of the shelter fits within the parameters of 16ft. W x 32ft. L x 20ft. H. It includes areas for sleeping, cooking and dining, plant cultivation, storage, utility, and hygiene.

 

Concept

To isolate an individual from the surround chaos of life and submerge them underwater for meditation and relaxation with visual and aquatic conditions.
